What is FASTag & How to get FASTag?

What is FASTag:-
FASTag is a device utilizing Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to facilitate toll payments directly from its linked prepaid account. Mounted on the vehicle’s windscreen, FASTag enables seamless passage through toll plazas, eliminating the need for cash transactions. Recharging or topping up the tag can be done according to individual requirements.

Benefits of FASTag include:

Ease of Payment: No necessity to carry cash for toll transactions, saving time.
Online Recharge: Conveniently recharge the tag online through the MyFASTag App using Debit Card, NEFT/RTGS, or Net banking via the Payment Gateway.
SMS Alerts: Receive alerts for toll transactions, low balance, etc.
Online Portal: Access an online portal for customer management.

FASTag has unlimited validity and remains operational until the tag is readable and untampered with. In cases of wear and tear affecting reading quality, users can contact their Issuing Bank for a replacement tag.

FASTag is currently operational at toll plazas along national highways, with more toll plazas continually being integrated into the FASTag program. The list of active toll plazas can be found in the respective section.

The charges for FASTag include a one-time fee of ₹100, inclusive of service tax with GST. The refundable security deposit varies based on the vehicle type, and specific details can be found in the ‘Fees and Charges’ section.

To acquire FASTag, individuals can visit nearby Toll Plazas to create their tag account. Necessary documents, including original and copy of KYC documents, vehicle’s RC Book, Driving Licence, and Vehicle, need to be provided during the process.
